I loved every moment working on this badge. The best part is when I used the materials I had with me to my advantage to make a dry shelter. This the best merit badge ever made.
I thought this merit badge was a lot of fun. it was different then most since there is an overnighter instead of writing stuff down or answering questions. The most difficult part is making a fire ( i think) because i only had flint, i got my fire started by a friendly boyscout helping me with magnesium
This was the best MB I ever earned. Both of my sons have now earned it.

Never go when the weathermen predict rain. We put tarps over our shelter and it ended up not raining. It was crazy hot.
my troop (22) does it in the winter. it is so cold where we go.-17degrees farenheit.

I love making the fires and sleeping in the shelter. This is a fun and fairly easy merit badge.
