The Digital Technology Merit Badge Is Out!

Digital technology plays a big part in just about everything we do. Hence, the Digital Technology merit badge.

Available at Scout shops now, the Digital Technology Merit Badge is all about using, understanding and appreciating digital technology, including computers, tablets, cell phones, and other electronic devices.

Among the requirements:

• Earn your Cyber Chip.

• Describe the kinds of digital devices you might use when you’re an adult.

• Describe two digital devices and how they are made useful by their programming.

• Describe how digital devices are connected to the Internet.

Overall, it looks like a really fun badge.

By the way, the Digital Technology merit badge will replace the Computers merit badge. The Computers badge will be discontinued on Dec. 31, 2014. Until then, you can actually earn and wear both.
