Eagle Project Idea: Repairing A Hiking Trail

Maryland Boy Scout Perry Gordon had seen first-hand the potential of the hiking trail in his community. When he was younger, it was a popular spot for kids and families. Unfortunately, he had also seen it become overgrown and seldom used.

That’s why Gordon and fellow Scout Gregory Brow decided to dedicate their Eagle service projects to restoring the once proud landmark.

Perry told Gazette.Net, a Maryland community news website, that he chose the project because the work can “help out this church and that’s a major part of this community, and it helps the school [located in the church] so they can have their kids explore nature.”

While Perry and Gregory were working on the trial, another Scout from the same troop, Benjamin Fritter, was painting street curbs.
