The BSA Fieldbook: It’s Pretty Darn Good

We’ve all know for awhile that the BSA Fieldbook, officially called Fieldbook: Scouting’s Manual of Basic and Advanced Skills for Outdoor Adventure, is a pretty useful resource.

It seems some other folks are catching on, too.

The Fieldbook was recently chosen as a “Work of Significance” in the 2014 National Outdoor Book Awards.

It seems that even if you aren’t a Scout, you can use the Fieldbook.

Buy your copy here or here.

Or, you can download it for your Kindle here.

  1. As a preschooler in the early 1940s, I would look through my older brother’s Scout Fieldbook and think to myself “I want to do this stuff! I want to be a Scout.” I did both when the time came and it’s been great. Newer versions of the Fieldbook have been updated to reflect changes in equipment and activities over time and provide good information on outdoor skills.
