Boy Scout spins records, fights hunger

Washington state Boy Scout Drew Valdez is developing quite the reputation as a disc jockey.

So when the young man known as DJ Slap Serif was looking for an Eagle Scout project, it seemed pretty obvious: spin records and fight hunger at the same time.

Drew recently hosted an event called Will DJ For Food at which guests donated canned goods, and Drew provided the beats.

The result was more than 700 pounds of food for an organization called Hopelink.
