TV filming in the rain

Friday, July 13, was supposed to be the final day of filming for this episode of Scouting For Adventure at the New River in West Virginia.

Turns out, it was a washout.

The planned rappelling and climbing activities were canceled due to the conditions, so the crew gathered our Scout subjects under some umbrellas over a scenic lookout spot and conducted a final round of interviews.

With a dense fog pouring over the New River, our Eagle Scouts from Troop 40 in Bridgeport, W.V., spoke on camera about their experience kayaking, fishing, rafting, standup paddleboarding and navigating of the ropes course.

It’s a lot of activities in a short amount of time, thanks to the kind folks at Adventures on the Gorge, who hosted our group as we explored one of the finest wilderness areas in North America.

Season 5 of Scouting For Adventure airs on the Outdoor Channel this fall. Order DVDs of Seasons 1-4 here.
