More than 55,000 Scouts Earned Their Eagle In 2012

That’s a lot of Eagle Scouts, and that’s a good thing.

In 2012, 57,976 young men earned Scouting’s highest achievement. That’s the highest number of Eagles earned for any given year in the history of the Scouting movement.

(The previous high was in the BSA’s Centennial Year of 2010, when 56,176 Scouts earned the rank of Eagle.)

Congrats to all the Eagles out there, old and new.

Is your unit going on a great fishing trip? Or maybe you’re taking an awesome trek in the mountains or a cool dive under the sea? Whatever your adventure, Boys’ Life might want to tag along.

We’re deciding which Super Scouting Outings to feature in future issues, and your trip could be next. But we need to hear about it as far in advance as possible.
