1920 Briggs & Stratton Flyer

Talk about a car lacking oomph. The Briggs & Stratton Flyer looked like a tiny 1920’s go-cart. A fifth wheel, trailing behind the Flyer, carried a one-cylinder engine that provided only two horsepower. At top speed, passengers in the cheap two-seater rode along at only 25 miles per hour.

  1. you could get killed on the highway with a semi truck with that thing.

  2. Maybe it was the first car thing, but i think it should have a bod.

    • that’s where the power is. if u take it away, the cart is nothing. but u can take it off and put it something else

Going twentyfive miles per hour with a one cylinder engine and two horsepower in the 20’s is not something to criticize, given the cars size! A lot of people need to get over their Masserati’s, Bugatti’s, Porsche’s, Ferrari’s, and Lamborghini’s and realize that cars were not always as cool as they are today.

  21. I wouldn’t mind having one of these. Looks really bad as an actual car though. I would just ride this around the neigborhood like a motorized scooter.

Indeed, it is easy to tell that the inventor of the modern day CART would sue.

Cart this thing away, and please, give me a bicycle!
