1957 Edsel

Ford’s Edsel brand debuted in 1957, but the cars shipped in terrible condition—doors wouldn’t close, ropes held bumpers in place, and shifting into reverse sometimes caused the trunk to fly open. A hideous “horse collar” grille didn’t help either. Ford lost $250 million on Edsel, and the brand went out with a whimper in 1959.

  1. How is this a bad car at all? I like old cars, and this is one of the coolest i’ve ever seen.
At least it’s better than that weird green three-wheeled one.

  2. Umm, that’s EXACTLY what it was panned for. :S

  3. watch the commercial. there are several models, and even a STATION WAGON! I just wish they had a pickup truck.
