We are all part of the problem. Here are some easy things you can do to be a part of the solution.
- Carry a canvas bag when you go shopping, instead of choosing “paper or plastic” store bags. Plastic bags are made from petroleum, which is an oil product. Paper bags are made from trees, important absorbers of excess carbon dioxide.
- Drink from a reusable water bottle. 2.5 million water bottles are thrown away every hour. This adds to our landfills and releases methane, a powerful heat-trapping greenhouse gas.
- Replace a light bulb with a compact fluorescent bulb (CFL). CFL’s use ¼ the energy that a regular (incandescent) light bulb uses. If every home in America changed just one light bulb, it would be equal to taking 800,000 cars off the road. LED light bulbs are another energy-efficient option.
- Unplug your iPod, DS and cell phone chargers when you’re finished charging. The plug in the wall keeps draining energy, putting more greenhouse gas pollution from a coal-fired power plant into the air.
- Take shorter showers. Heating water uses energy.
- Print on both sides of the paper when using your computer printer. Also, look for paper that’s made from at least 30 percent post-consumer waste.
- Take a thermal lunch box to school filled with plastic containers instead of throw-away baggies.
- Set your computer to go into standby mode, or sleep mode, instead of using a screen-saver.
- Organize a “walk-to-school” day, encouraging anyone who can to take public transportation or walk/bike/skateboard to school.
- Buy stuff with minimal packaging.

People who care about the environment are no longer hippies, we are people who don’t want to live in smog everyday of our lives or see beauitful animals go exctient.
All the papers I mess up writing on, I could recycle. That way it could be turned into clean paper. Somthing nobody should do is through recyclable things in the lake. Me (Luv2juggle#2) and my dad (Luv2juggle#1) go to our lake, Lake Winnipasakee and go to a small swamp, and do a small clean sweep.

We all can buy safe plastics & the way you can is by 1,2,3,4,5,6 & 7.
You know those recycling symbols on bottom of your plastics like: (1) is safe. It some times has PETE on it. It also is recyclable. (2) is also safe & recyclable. this is
called HDPE (3) is not safe or recyclable same with (6). Now (3) is VINYL or PVC. Those plastic particles rub off on your LUNCH!!!! Ya, thats RIGHT, your colored material (not metal or paper),handle lunch bag.there (3). (6) doesn’t rub on your lunch. (4) & (5)
safe & recyclable & last (7). (7) is questionable. they’re is two kinds: PC is not recyclable but it’s questionable. PLA is safe but not recyclable. It can be used for compost.

We have had globel warming for a long time. You know what i say,”Cross your fingers or fight globel warming”. Its obvious what you should do.

happen every two or three thousand years. do you know why they called
“greenland”green? two thousand years ago,IT WAS GREEN!!!!

The ventilation of most houses goes through the attic. So if you put too much insulation in the attic, you could block the movement of moisture in and out of the house. The previous owners of our house did that and caused black mold to grow all along the ceiling. The moisture from the warm air condensed on the colder ceiling. And black mold is not good to have in the house. We had to remove some insulation and spread it around. Also we had to drill holes in the eaves for air to circulate. So simply putting in more attic insulation is not the answer.
We should all buy an extra multi-pack of CFL bulbs and give them to the poor or the elderly, and/or donate a multi-pack to our churches for distribution. Because of the high initial cost for CFL bulbs the poor/elderly (those who would benefit the most) are least likely to use them. In addition to using one-fourth of the electricity of regular bulbs they last ten times longer so you aren’t always having to replace them. I have replaced all the bulbs in both of my grandparents’ houses because I knew that they would not do so on their own. Another big help is to increase the insulation in our attics. I understand that attic insulation and CFL bulbs are one of the fastest ways to save money. For car-related energy and enviromental savings, regular tuneups and proper amounts of air in the tires are key.

I ride my bike to school every day I can. I live 4 miles away, and it takes me 20 minutes.
There are also a lot of scientists who think the earth is starting to cool down. Hence, a lot of people sported the term “Climate Change” when they use “climate change” who knows if they think it’s cooling down or warming up? A lot of people(not Boys Life) use “climate change” VERY often. So if earth cools or warms they’re correct, showing they don’t know what is going to happen in the future.
After campouts, clean everything up. Even the stuff that was there before you came.
