I don’t exactly leave my BIONICLES intact. The 1st generation ones I have are long gone (as in rebuilt into some other creation) but I tend to make a bigger and better one afterwards. Anyways, LEGOS are meant to be taken apart, I mean, why would they give you something you can build and take apart completely if it wasn’t supposed to be destroyed? I have only four creations that I have never destroyed that came in a set as is. The white Piraka dude (don’t know his name) a BIONICLE type Darth Vader and Super Battle Droid (the grey ones from Star Wars) and an AT-AT which had about 1100 pieces in it, and yes, it was not BIONICLE, I know.
This tip is really simple and really… correct. You need to be careful with all LEGOS. Here are a few easy ways to keep your LEGOS picture perfect:
-Once you have made a design, evaluate it. Is this something worth keeping? If so, don’t continue to move pieces around or take apart.
-If you chose to keep the design, try to fix any minor mistakes before mounting it. Suprisingly, those mistakes will show.
-Once you really like the design and feel that it looks great, put it in a safe spot where others can admire, but not touch it. A great place is your trophy case, display case, or other glass-incased shelf. A regular shelf works too, but in that case, get the message across that the design is for eyes only, not hands.
-When younger visitors come, or if siblings under the age of seven live with you, make sure that the design is out of their reach if not incased. That is just because younger kids sometimes have a harder time leaving things intact.
-Most importantly, enjoy your design. If you decided it was something worth keeping, it’s worth admiring too!
where can you get old bionicles that are no longer sold on the lego website or in the catalog? Is there a database somewhere of all of them since they’ve come out?
Yeah this is good advice if you don’t want to create rahi or combination titans and other characters. If you do take apart your Bionicles like me, just be sure to use as little force as possible and don’t take them apart needlessly. I love LEGO Bionicle!
p.s. Toa Mata/Nuva Tahu and Kopaka are my two all time favorite bionicle:)
I actually think your advice is right on! Many LEGO Bionicles come with small plastic pieces that can be easily broken or lost. I would recommend that once you build your toy, you leave it alone. Try not to continue to take pieces of and place them in other areas or start over for fun. I’ve learned that the hard way with my own Bionicles, because I used to continuously take them apart. I would end up loosing or breaking at least 4 pieces a week.
If you have ever seen the original makuta, you’ll know that the mask of life makes a great claw. Also, they are not “wickid easy” as lewa toa said, if your building 800 peice sets for fun.
