i also take one normal slice of bread and one slice of bread from the end of the loaf. i put the jelly on the one from the end so it doesn’t go through because it’s too thick. but if you don’t like eating bread that’s covered with crust, this trick works too…

YES! I have been looking for a way to keep sandwiches from getting soggy for years, and years. Thank you so much for posting this idea!

I like my PB & J soggy but good idea

  4. Matthew says:

We toast the bread first. It is crunchy when you make the sandwich, but after a few hours it softens, but it doesn’t get soggy.

Use tortilla to make peanut and butter sandwiches, you also don’t need to worry about soggy bread or squished bread.

Something else that gets messy when packed is a cupcake. My mom cuts the cupcake in half and puts the icing in the middle. That way the icing doesn’t come off with the plastic wrap.

Another idea to keep bread from getting soggy is to mix the jelly with the PB before you spread onto the bread. Your bread doesn’t get soggy as fast and the jelly doesn’t leak out!

  12. Star-Wars Fan From Alaska says:

That is a really good idea. My mom always seems to pack these soggy sandwiches for outings and hikes, but now I see that she probably just isn’t making them the right way! I’ll mention that to her so maybe she can improve a little. The school lunch sandwiches might need to try that trick too. But I’m not sure if the sandwiches would improve. They taste like solid rock. (Tasteless, to be exact.)

I used to make PB&J like this for my dad but stopped when he complained that the jelly kept sliding out.
