Goldfish tanks are where fish poo… I would put a shallow bowl that floats in water and put some FRESH (but not too much) water from the sink in the bowl, & wave the carrot in the bowl that floats.
(better then eating a carrot in the place fiah pee!) 
My mom will pass out on that trick!
