There are several ways to make Arrow Heads. You can use bone, hardwood, metal or you can flintknap. Flintknapping is the more difficult path. I have been at it for a year and I’m still learning.

to make a bow,cut a straight branch about 5 feet long,then peel off the bark and let the stick dry, then you whittle the stick so it tapers towards the tips, but the front of the bow cant be cut or it will snap, once that is done cut notches for the string and your bow is finished.

I found this website while looking up the Seneca Indians bow to replicate one without the arrow head due to school policy. I of course am not a guy but found this very helpful. I didn’t follow these steps for my project but will be soon with my brother.

you can make a BOW by using a yew tree 1st you need to find a sapling and cut it down then u need carve it with a rasp until it actualy looks like a bow then boil some deer hide in pine pitch (or any white glue will do eg.woodglue)then get some seniw from your local buchers use the glue to stick it on leave it for a few weeks (or else the seniw might not set right and you might ruin your bow)p.s u dont have to use the glue and seniw part if you dont want to it just strenghtins it more

One way to make a bow.1-get a thin hickory stick(about 1/4inch thick) 2- Get a spool of braided-nylon cord at a sporting goods store or Wal-Mart(150-lb test.) 3- notch the end &tie the cord on note:it is not very accurate.

this arrow is good yes but it isent truely authentic ….i am full blooded lakota sioux and i make a liveing on makeing arrows and bows and dream cathcers etc…u need three fletchings to make the arrow be stable and truely u should use boneglue or pitch glur to hold every thign together of sinew

obsidian works well, but flint is the best. when u r making the arrow, u dont want the wood to be too light, or the rock too heavy, it will have a negative affect on the flight of the arrow. if possible, have the thicker end of the arrow head be bigger than the shaft, this way the arrow will go farther through the target

For target practice arrows, you could sharpen the end of the shaft, but if you wanted to hunt with the arrows flat, hard arrowheads would make a bigger entry wound and the animal wouldn’t suffer as long.

i find real arrowheads and use those on my arrow and besides wooden bows are kinda rare well a little bit o yeah u should make one about bow makeing and explain the sinew a little more and how to get it and where to get it o and plus if u were to walk into my room its like an indian paradise o and remember this message dont forget.

I am a bow hunter and have killed two elk, a deer, a bear, and tons of small game animals. I just got a longbow like the Indians used and I think this was pretty helpful because i make arrowheads out of a type of flint called Obsidian. I use a deer horn and a round rock to shape and sharpen the rock but i couldn’t figure out how to make the shafts so i read this page and tried it out. IT WORKS! i was also impressed with how strong the sinew was.
