South Africa is dealing with a group of unusual thieves. Baboons have learned how to open car doors and jump through windows to snatch snacks from unsuspecting tourists. City officials fear the problem will get worse as more people come to South Africa in 2010 to watch soccer’s World Cup.
Just this week, a “troupe of 29 baboons raided four cars outside Simon’s Town, a small coastal neighborhood.” Visitors are encouraged to stay in their vehicles, lock doors and close windows if they see baboons.
