Heads Up

Lunar Eclipse Wednesday

Look to the sky Wednesday night and see the last lunar eclipse until Dec. 2010.

A lunar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes through Earth’s shadow. Our planet’s atmosphere causes Earth’s shadow to glow red. During the eclipse, the Moon will turn shades of copper, red and orange.

Look to the sky beginning at 10 p.m. EST. The color should be best around 10:26 EST, and the show ends when the Moon leaves Earth’s shadow around 11 EST.
