Lawn Chair Flies To Idaho

Kent Couch used giant helium-filled balloons to travel via lawn chair more than 200 miles from his Oregon home to Idaho.

Couch, a 48-year-old gas station attendant, rigged his trusty lawn chair with more than 150 multi-colored party balloons. He took off from his gas station’s parking lot at dawn. He covered 235 miles in nine hours before touching down in Cambridge, Idaho.

The aviator carried boiled eggs, jerky and chocolate to munch on during the trip. He also carried a BB gun with which to shoot the balloons and descend at the end of his journey.
