Homeless Teen Aims for College

BooksKenneth Chauncey lives at the Union Rescue Mission in one of the roughest parts of Los Angeles, Calif. His walk to and from school takes more than an hour, but his hardships haven’t stopped him from achieving. The 17-year-old is an honors student and the starting running back on the Helen Bernstein High football team. He was just named best overall academic student for his junior year.

Kenneth dreams of attending Harvard and studying medicine.
