Untradeable patches

Hey, Pedro, I am attending the jamboree this summer and was planning on doing some patch trading. I was wondering if there are some patches that are considered “untradeable.” Are you going to be there?

Any patch is tradable for something, Adam. Of course, I’ll be there, sweating and stamping in my little corral.

I just came back from the Jamboree and I traded patches for 1 reason. The patches I wanted where cool to me. But others wanted them to be sold on ebay and to make a quick buck off it. It all matters on what the person wants.

What patches will the boys trade and why do they do this? My son is going and I just don’t understand this issue.

Scouts trade patches for various reasons. Some do it for money, patches of a certain rarity can be sold for a pretty penny. Others do it for historical interest, they heard about the patch and thought “hey that’d be cool to have!” Stillone of the main reasons is that is allows us scouts to get to know one another in a common setting with similar goals.
