It was super awsome! Those guys have talent if they can get right under the plane to hook up. Afghanastan has a lot of mountains and valleys.
Watch as a KC-135 refuels B-1 Bombers and A-10 Warthogs in support of Operation Enduring Freedom over Afghanistan.
Coolest thing ever. But it flipping f-14 tomcats!
That was the most amazing thing I have ever seen. The blue angles are cool.

Have you saw a Blue Angel flying?LoL i flew a Blue Angel
Hate to be the party pooper, but I wish they had shown a little more of the blue angels actual flying. I’d like to see some tricks! All the put here was in the magazine. Except for the video of Aaron Derr “hurling”, that is.
Ive seen them in a show theyre awesome, I’m going to the air force academy my dream is to fly!!!!
me too!!!!!(except for the whole show thing)!!!!!
Just think how strong the combat versions of the planes are. Gosh, I would not like to be a enemy.
that was outstanding good job flying that super sonic plane keep it up
I love the video and some day, I hope I can do something like that to.
all of you who want to be a blue angel keep on dreaming.it takes YEARS of practice to make it to that stage.and I too am gonna take flight lessons.thats my current dream in pursuing
I really want to be a pilot some day, I would LOVE tofly with the blue anges. I am on a virtual flight team ( Mirosoft Flight Simulator X) and it would be my dream to fly with the blue angels!!
I am currently living in Pensacola,Fl witch is the home to the blue angels. I went to the fall homecoming show and had a blast. cheak out there home page. and the navel aviation musem.
it should have shown more of his flight.
(yes, I am a fan of doctor who XD)
It was funny when the guy barfed in the barf bag. I can’t believe how big the F/A-18 Hornet is. The Blue Angels rock!
To bad he couldn’t go the speed of sound, or fly in an f-22. Next time he should fly in the Blue Angels C-130.
I think flying with the blue angels is alsome.I just read the article and it told me where to go.I have a question?can you tell me where to go to see a show for blus angel? And can i ride with you one day?
the blue angels make shows at Jax beach FL on veterens day EVERY YEAR!!!!!!!!
I think the Blue Angels are great! I obtained my Eagle Scout rank at the age of thirteen. I am currently taking flight lessons, and have over fifteen hours logged. I wish someday I could be a blue angel pilot.
I want to be a boys life writer and do cool things like that.
Watch video of the Blue Angels in action, as well as footage from Boys' Life's flight.
I just checked my local listings for the outdoor channel at the times listed. I don’t see it. Is the show still on?
I THINK IT WOULD BE VERY INTERESTING. I MIGHT JUST GO AHEAD, JUMP IN MY CHAIR AND WATCH IT!
I think BL should see there is sufficient interest in offering the shows online, even if for a fee, or perhaps they can find a sponsor (paging ‘Cabelas’). Not everyone gets OLN, so some form of online viewing would be beneficial.
This needs to be broadcast on a more readily available channel. Outdoor channel has accessability problems.
In my opinion the show is well done, and also motivating.
They should make a real BSA Channel, not just a show.
I think this program is great, but I think that just using national camps doesn’t show what happens at the small camps, that we have all over the place and witch more boys go to other than national camps. These camps are just as structred as the big camps and most of the time more fun as well.
I feel as do others that it should be on more channels than just the outdoor channel. I know that some of the DE’s have DVD of these shows I think everyone should be able to have these in there libary
I would love to know where the location of the show that appeared on television 8 am central time took place. The scenery was beautiful! The show told about a sprained ankle and using a triangular bandage to help a sprain until getting back to the camp site to remove shoe and allow swelling to go down. We couldn’t see which state that was located in, and we have a guessing game up in the air! lol Thanks, the show is very interesting.
I think they should make an entire boyscout channel with a scouts in action series, a Pedro cartoon and a pee wee cartoon
Sometimes you can ask to recieve a particular chanel a la carte’. If you dont get the outdoors channel you might try acking your service provider to add it to your list. I think that channel is one of those channels. Lots of good stuff on that channel.
Unfortunately, we don’t get the outdoor channel in our area. I’d love to see it on you tube or even viewable on the Outdoor Channel website. I realize this is a start but I don’t know how well received it will be if much of your potential viewership can’t receive the programming. I hope that is taken into account when deciding whether to continue the program or not when the time comes.
Loved seeing last saturdays airing wish the wed airings would change to a better time and day though.
A few minutes of the show can be seen on this part of the Outdoor Channel website:
http://www.outdoorchannel.com/Shows/ScoutingForAdventure.aspx
I do not care what channel it’s on, I am just glad that there is at least one that still thinks enough of the scouts to aire a positive show about them. I am sure thay will eventually be available through other media. In the mean time find someone who has the Outdoor channel and ask them to copy it.
As a BSA District Executive, I am very pleased with this production. I will be recording the entire series. I am also impressed with the timing of BL’s release of this show. I would be interested in seeing the impact it has in fall recruitment. Way to go BL! Pedro delivers!
Would love to see it on YouTube or Discovery. Would be really great if it was shown online as well on the Outdoor Channel. Also, would love to be able to show the shows on DVD.
It’s great they offer this new show. However, most people can’t get the Outdoor channel at home unless you pay through the nose for it. Why not make it available online? Or via DVD.
Hey! PodCasts sounds like a great idea. short segments lots of information, entertaining and informative. That’s the ticket!
Who has the outdoor channel?
Everything ends up on U-tube. I guess thats when I’ll pop my popcorn.
To: the Scouter that dubs it. please do a good job.
sach
Unbelievable! Finally, the BSA puts us out there where people can see the amazing things that we do, and people are complaining. I think this is a great “step” in the right direction. I think this is the start of something that can get bigger and better. Thank you “Boy’s Life.”
have been a schout for 5 years even i lern a thing or 2
Hello,
The rare but always present “negative comment” about being on the same page & channel.
Do You think this is free??
What do you think the cost might be on an everyday channel? It is a starting point, and i am sure BSA will look into getting these shows available on another platform (if the contract permits!!) remember you have to crawl before you can walk muchless run.
Check out the Outdoor Channel’s Website. They have a place to watch their shows online. I don’t know for sure if the Scout show will be on there–but it’s worth watching for! Their website is: http://www.outdoorchannel.com/tv/
Do you believe this would draw more scouts in? What if you take it to another level like sports have and had the Boy Scouts of America was established, by competitive outdoor adventures, e are losing so many scouts each year because they believe its a school after school and sometimes they go camping and those skills will no longer be used. hen I grew up in scouting what drove me to meetings just like many scouts in my troop was the sense of adventure and rival troops in the area where we were going to compete twice a year at Burr oak, Camporees, and klondikes. I am no longer it that area because the Military has moved me from there. In the location I am in now they had a Camporee with the historical theme, and only a gateway competition, and next year they are going to incorporate cub scouts into it. Please shed some light, I love scouting, and I love the traditions of scouting. Are we caught up in the Money and profit scouting makes or the lifes that we can mold and change? I am sorry for this soap box on the wonderful Scouting show forum, I am only one opinion, but if u look at the decline in 10 years it is at 37% even though they say at all the meetings I goto that scouting is doing good. Thank you, take care and please keep scouting!
My cable provider, only offers this channel at a higher tier, which equates to more money from me to them. I can not justify the cost. YOUTUBE is a great alternative and possibly put them on this site as podcasts. This would allow untis to use them as a recruiting tool. IMHO
Why dont you guys just use public broadcasting its not like this is gonna make up for not selling cookies!
Sounds like a great show. I do not get the Outdoor Channel. Is there anyway the videos can be made available? Online, DVD, for sale, free????
We would love to see them
Thanks, h2otgo
I WOULD LOVE TO WATCH THIS TELEVISION PRESENTATION SPONSERED BY BOY’S LIFE BUT UNFORTUNTLY I CAN NOT. IN THIS TOUGH ECONOMIC TIME IN OUR GREAT COUNTRY I MUST TAKE THE 9TH POINT OF THE SCOUT OATH EVEN CLOSER TO HEART AND MANAGE MY MONEY SO THE $18.00 THAT TIME WARNER CABLE WANT FOR E TO RECEIVE THIS CHANNEL IS JUST NOT POSSIABLE. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMEND THAT AFTER THE SHOW IS BROADCAST ON TELEVISION THE SHOW BE AVAILIABLE ON LINE EITHER ON THE NATIONAL COUNCIL WEBSITE, BOYSLIFE WEBSITE OR YOUTUBE. I HOPE YOU TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION THE MANY PROUD AMERICAN SCOUTERS AND MAKE THIS VEIWABLE TO USE IN SOME OTHER FORMAT. AS ALWAYS KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK GEETING THE SCOUTING MESSAGE OUT TO THE WORLD
What a great showcase for Scouting. Too bad it is on the Outdoor Channel which is a premium channel that I don’t get. We have Verizon FiOS and the Outdoor costs a bundle. My suggestion would be for National to get these shows on another channel (e.g., Discovery or Nat Geo) or up on YouTube, and offer the series on DVDs for wider distribution.
In my humble opinion, if you want the “reintroduce America to the real BSA, you will need to get wider distribution for this show.
Very good program. However, given the times it is being shown, it will not be seen by many in the Western Time zone.
Yes, the Outdoor Channel is not widely available in our Comcast service area near San Francisco, except on pricey Premium Digital Channels. None of our Scouts can access it in our city. Scouts and Scouting’s image can only be furthered by making its fun, adventures, and good work known to the masses who can afford to watch this program. Bring it down to standard TV reception that all can access!
If you don’t have the channel maybe you can watch them online. If you go to the OutdoorChannel website, on the top menu click “Shows”. On that page, scroll down in the box (its alphabetical) and click “Scouting For Adventure” to go to the show’s page.
How about making it available for purchase through iTunes? People won’t have to subscribe to OLN, but can still purchase the program.
Hello “Boys life” do you get the idea yet? You may have a wonderful program but if we are not all on the same page or “the same channel” it’s not going to go very far, is it.
Not fair I don’t have the channel! I whish i could show this to my new scouts, I wonder if we could buy these my Troop would definatly buy them.
8)
: lol:
I equally am excited about this series and my Comcast provider only allows for this as an add-on channel adove and beyond Digital Premium package that I pay monthly. I would strongly encoruage that we look at providing this via some other means. Awesome idea but don’t hide this stuff.
I believe that our local cable distributor does not carry the Outdoor Channel. Perhaps it could also be distributed to our target audience..scout-age youth.. via popular children’s network such as Disney and Nicklelodian networks.
WE WOULD LOVE TO SEE THIS! However we don’t have this channel where I live. Maybe check with the Discovery Channel to see if they would be interested in showing this. My son loves being a scout, but it’s hard to recruit new kids these days. If we could have some visuals to show kids they may be more excited about joining!!
Very, very COOL! Thanks BSA for taking Scouting to another level!
We don’t get the Outdoor Channel, since it’s on a pricey-er tier via cable and we’re thrifty scouts
Looks like the Outdoor Channel offers shows on its www site. Could BSA make sure we have access to the show via their site, or perhaps via iTunes?
I would think charging $$ for the shows would be counter-productive to the objective of getting the word out! We’ll definitely be able to better promote Scouting that way.
I have the same trouble as NL. DirecTV carries Outdoor Channel as an extra add on that I’m not sure I want to pay extra for. I wish they would have asked scout leaders before choosing a network. Maximum Adventure Network (MAN) would probably have jumped on the opportunity to get a new show with a ready made audience. It is a great new channel that comes with my current DirecTV package.
Same as Above, we can’t get the channel either. But the show looks great. I have a number of photos i could send to add in.
This is a great thing and a great idea. I really would like my Scouts to see it.
Unfortunately, in our area, the Outdoor Channel is part of a superpremium cable package and we won’t be able to see it.
We don’t get this channel where we live, and I’d love to use these videos for Join Scouting Night as a recruiting tool. Will BSA allow Packs/Troops to purchase these?
The new season of Scouting for Adventure begins this week on the Outdoor Channel.
Strengthen your arms, legs, chest, back and especially your core (abdominal) muscles. Watch this video to learn how to do the prone bridge/hand tap exercise correctly.
that looks like an incredible movie, however its nothing like the book, they dont even go to smmer camp or mention boyscouts in the book
@crasher: the actors are getting old, so for this movie, they’re putting Last Straw and Dog Days together, but the only summer camp I remember was that military camp…
This is gonna be the best movie yet, I love to camp!!!!!
thanks for the help
this is great for the younger scouts in my troop
lol! so funny! “It is not stormy tonight.”-chirag. lol
greg sounds different because he is getting older. I think that this will be the last movie.
Great tips for me. I’m going camping next month. So if i were you, follow these tips.
I loved the video and I cant wait to see the movie on august 3rd
Greg Heffley might be the "Wimpy Kid" of book and big-screen fame, but he's no wimp when it comes to camping. (Or is he?) Here's his video guide to the great outdoors.
Watch the archived video from the Boyslife.org webcast with Michael Scott, author of the series "The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel."
Very inspirational! I would be great if someone can give pointers of how to prepare for such a hike.
Climbing mt.whitney is hard i had to give up in the middle of it these guys are very brave
Was there really that much snow and what did you pack?
mt.witney is the tallest mtn in the lower 48 st8s
Good job guys! I’ve hiked all over the John Muir trail and the surrounding areas and I know it’s not easy. You’ve now proven yourselves to be worthy of even greater challenges than this. You’ll be backpacking again, not because it’s easy, but because it’s all worth it. Right?
I can relate to the boys that made the climb to the top of Mt. Whitney. Back in July of 1959 our 1st Recon Bn. of the 1st Marine Divn. made the climb also. We hiked 127 miles from the lowest point in the continental USA, Death Valley at 279.6′ below sea level, to the highest point in the continental USA, Mt. Whitney at 14,496′ above sea level. The hike took us 10 days. The hottest spot was in Death Valley when the temp. rose to approx. 130 degrees in the shade. We reached the summit at 10:00AM with the temp. comfortable and clear skies. By 1:00PM we were hustling off the summit in a blizzard of snow, which turned into a horrific downpour of rain with plenty of lightning by the time we got down to the tree line. Out of 200 Marines that started only one man did not make the summit. When we arrived at the Whitney Portal going up, the Navy Corpsman with us pulled the one man because of how bad his feet were.
We also had conditioning hikes of 20, 40 and 60 miles at Camp Pendleton, which lead up to the big one.
For one member of Troop 89, getting to the summit of Mount Whitney was the end of a four-year journey. For others, it was just the beginning.
I went on Kumba and Sheikra and it was ace and surprisingly no one barfed!
Rode both of those last week. SheiKra was great. Mom was scared of Kumba, but I loved it. Sister is into roller coasters now. Yay!
I Went to Busch gardens but was not tall enough to go on my these. My cousin went on SheiKra and loved it. Cheetah chase is awesome though.
It looks awesome when your watchin’ it
and scary when your ridin’ it.
These are nothing. If you want to see something go to Cedar Point.
wow i think i would feel a little sick afterwords.
Looks awesome, I just wish I lived in Florida instead of California. The thing I like about California is Disneyland
I meant on my last comment now instead of know.
You probably have a slow computer….. or u-tube isn’t working
Kumba is too painful and SheiKra has an EPIC drop so SheiKra is my favorite
it looked ok but the videos weren’t filmed inside the seats of the roller coaster so it didn’t give you the experience of the roller coaster kumba was better
Because of the kind of lens used at the last part of the Sheikra vid, it reminds me of Super Mario Galaxy, in which all the planets are really tiny spheres, so the vid makes it look like the coaster spreads throughout the entire planet.
Oh, I just use that name cuz I used to be really good with him on Brawl. But I haven’t played it in a while, so it’s kinda out-of-date.
Awesome! I really want to go to Busch Gardens now to try out these.
I love roller coasters and I actually want to be a roller coaster engineer when I grow up. SheiKra and Kumba were some cool coasters. SheiKra reminded me a lot like griffon.
Eagle Scout Mark Rose has a job many people only dream about. He helps design the rides and attractions at Busch Gardens in Tampa, Fla. Check out videos of two of the roller coasters at the theme park.
Make one do science homework! Make sure it doesnt take over the world i got some big plans for my next three years in highschool. GO TORS!!!!!!
that is NOT voice-activated. The code was prewritten (probably by someone’s dad) or it had a recorded message inside.
I need to see it so I know it is real because the internet can take things from other blogs
and make something new. But I do like it because it says things kids need to know
about scouts.
that is amazing though it had a little trouble on the cub scout mott how do you think they built it
Hey! That bot was not real! It was COMPLETELY FAKE!!!!!!!
how do we know that its even a real robot, i mean they could be really really smart an do make it, but the probability,
that was the bom the coolest robot i had evr sn n my lifman.sweet@!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just curios did the scouts themselves code the robot or was the code prewritten?
Hi. That is real accomplishment for the boy scouts !!
!!awesome!! some voted it very poor!! not me i vote exelent
When Scouts from Troop 2 in Billings, Mont., decided to earn their Robotics merit badge, they went all out. See video of their robot in action.
When doing the squat try to keep your back straight. Proper stance in any exercise is a must.

Do you know the titanic sank in the northern pacific ocean at 2:20 am.A few people did`nt believe the titanic was sinking and the band on the ship played until the ship sank and the bands last song was oh god my thee.
The last song on the titanic was nearer my god to thee. It crashed 37 seconds after they spotted it on April 14th and sunk the next morning @ 2:20 am.
Dr. Ballard is awesome! I actually got to meet him once. My sister was a Jason Project argonaut.
I can’t figure out how to listen to this interview on my iPad?
Listen in on parts of BL’s interview with former Life Scout Robert Ballard, who discovered the Titanic wreck in 1985.
that song has been stuck in my head for about three weeks/
Ya the bicycle inner tube thing is cool until it snaps and hits you in the face.
Working out doesn't mean you have to spend money on expensive gear or a gym membership. Here are some workout routines you can do using easy-to-make, affordable equipment pieces.
Listen in on clips of BL's interview with famous actor and former Life Scout LeVar Burton, who plays Doc Greene in the new Hub TV cartoon series "Transformers Rescue Bots."
Thanks for the tips. I’ll make sure and remember them.
Now try doing 100 of those with a Drill Sargent’s boot in your shoulder blades. thats what I had to do and MUCH more when I was in paratrooper training.
Pushups strengthen chest, arm, shoulder and stomach muscles. Watch this video to learn how to do pushups correctly.
Rock climbing at the BSA’s newest high-adventure base, the Summit Bechtel Reserve, is going to be awesome. Venturing Crew 5.14 from Oley, Pa., has already experienced it first hand.
I’m really surprised that with all of these fans of Eragon, none of them have a refence to the book series in their nicknames. Anyway, I think that the Inheritance Cycle was pretty epic.
The series is truly top-notch, the final pages of Inheritance however, let us leave it at depressing.
I have gotten an amazing sense of gratification from reading this series.
Best-selling author Christopher Paolini answered questions from Boys' Life magazine readers in a live webcast on Dec. 12, 2011.
wow! thats so cool! so inspiring! I wish I could do that! I’m wondering how you missed so much school and how you had enough to survive that long? anyways, that is AMAZING so cool. keep doing great things!

Awesome adventure. I like that you said your backpack becomes like part of your body…. I agree – sometimes I leave mine on when I am just taking a short break. Long distance hiking is a blast! I am a school teacher – you really don’t have to miss that much school – anyway you were hiking with your Dad so your educational responsibilities still had adult guidance as well. BRAVO!
I hiked the Dragons Tooth section last October. It was a difficult section, very slow hiking through there.
Honk! Honk! that is our venturing crew word for WOW and AMAZING and KEEP GOING! One of our crew members (247 in VA) completed the trail this year…she left two days after graduating high school…..our crew loves to back pack. What a great accomplishment for you and your Dad. A trip of a lifetime. Thanks for sharing…..
I did 110 miles in Cherokee NF along TN NC border in 10 days many years ago when I was 13. This kid is an inspiration. Great Job!
That is so awesome, what a cool time with your dad. I hope you home schooled along the way, that would be even cooler. School lessons under the trees. Good for you..
I was heading SOBO and we crossed pathes at a shelter in late July. Congratulations to Chili and Pepper.
As a father (and former scout) I know how proud your dad is of you. This is an experience you’ll always look back on and enjoy. Hiking the AT is an accomplishment very few people get to realize and now you can count yourself among some of the most driven and grounded people I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting.
I’m going to assume you are or were home schooled which your dad most likely continued on the trail in the best class room ever.
You’re an inspiration, Cameron. Be proud of yourself. Live well.
Pepper and Chile, You guys rock. So proud of you and best of luck on the Pacific Crest Trail this summer.
I met these two when I was hiking the Appalachian Trail in 2010. He’s such a great kid with an awesome father. Congratulations Chili and Pepper!
How did you go to school? Or, manage missing so much of school?
After walking more than 2,100 miles over six months, Cameron Pendleton and his father made it to Maine and completed the entire Appalachian Trail. Listen as Cameron reflects on his accomplishment.

I liked the part when the hurricane was invading the cockpit.
Me to.
