the contest is made for boys but i dont think they wold mind if your sister entered
Well, your sister mabey could enter if she is in a Venture. I don’t know all the age reqs. so i’m not sure if she can join or not. Otherwise, I don’t think she could enter being this is for BOY scouts.
Yeah, the Tom Sawer book was pretty funny and coincedental. Great job everyone who did the contest!

Here are the winning essays from the 2008 Boys’ Life reading contest.
The Adventures of Tom Sawyer is a great novel to read. A more difficult to read by the same author, Samuel Clemens, is “The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn” because many of the speech between the characters is written in local speech and not standard “English School Teacher” spelling of words.
Hatchet rocks!!!im reading Brians Winter right now!its the sequel to Hatchet!!!

somebody says is kind of right, but the older scouts kind of earned it so it is fair. I think I am going to participate this year, it sounds great! I wonder what you win?
GREAT JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Evrey body that participated. i hope that yall do better next time. maybe since i read a few of yalls stories and i think yall did a great job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! p.s i love scouts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi, it doesn’t seem fair to lump 11 year olds and 17 year olds in the same category when 9 and 10 year olds are separate. Obviously a 17 year old will always beat an 11 year old, so the decks are really stacked against younger boys.
iread anne of green gables i thought that it was awesome
i love books on the holocaust and learning about things that some would rather forget and i am glad that you chose a winner like Night because that book is REAL and will teach us [the children] to appriciate what we do have in our american society

I really liked these book reports. I am going to check out some of these books the next time I go to the library.
My comment goes to Josh Curry. When I read his letter, it made me think back to the days when I was younger, my parents, like in Josh’s letter, gave to me and continue to do so.
Here are the winning essays from the 2006 Boys’ Life reading contest. 8 YEARS OLD AND YOUNGER First Place: Josh Curry, 7, Covington, Wash.
