Bringing Comfort To Kids With Cancer

When you’re sick, sometimes it’s the little things that make you feel better.

The Cub Scouts from Bear Den 2 in Pack 800, Kissimmee, Fla., contribute regularly to Layers of Love For Children, a charity that provides no-sew blankets to children who are battling cancer.

A no-sew blanket is exactly what it sounds like — a blanket you can make without having to sew. Usually they’re made with two pieces of fleece tied together around the edges.

The original goal was for each Cub Scout to make one blanket. But as the charity grew, so did the demand for blankets. The Cub Scouts had to ramp up their production along with other families and friends.

Earlier this year, the members of Den 2 delivered 47 blankets to Arnold Palmer Children’s Hospital in Orlando, Fla.
