Eagle Scout Project Idea: Building Benches

Devin Spangler has had a passion for learning about outer space since he was 3.

When it came time to choose an Eagle project, he used that passion to build four benches for the Orlando Science Center. Each bench honors one of four eras of the space program: the Mercury program, the Gemini program, the Apollo program and the space shuttle program.

“I believe an Eagle Project should be something you are passionate about, and for me my passion was space,” Devin says on his Web page.

Devin, from Troop 211 in Apopka, Fla., wants to become an astronautical engineer when he finishes school.
