A 15-year-old Boy Scout from Louisa, Virginia, didn’t like the idea of bugs messing with his fruits and vegetables.
So he’s unleashing some bats.
Andrew Morris is working with the local parks and rec department to install bat houses at six different locations. Bats love eating the same bugs that are forcing local farmers to use pesticides to keep away the pesky critters.
Andrew told a local TV station that his bat house project is just one of several projects he needs to complete to earn a Hornaday medal.
