Popular Artist Earns Distinguished Eagle

The Southeast Louisiana Council will be presenting a Distinguished Eagle Scout Award to one of their local favorites: artist George Rodrigue.

Rodrigue, who earned his Eagle in 1960, is famous for his art that features blue dogs, but he’s also produced other notable works, including some on display at the BSA National Museum.

Read all about Rodrigue’s days as a Boy Scout on his wife’s blog here.

If you’re a Louisiana high school student, you can enter Rodrigue’s art contest here.

The Distinguished Eagle Scout Award is presented to an Eagle Scout for continuous service to his community and profession over a period of 25 years.
