Cub Scout Pack 3415 in Birmingham, Ala., has certainly acted in a K.I.N.D. manner.
The Scouts donated $18,067.75 to the Kids in Need of Desks (K.I.N.D.) Fund Project. The K.I.N.D. project will use the funds to buy desks for schools in Malawi, Africa, where children must sit on the floor and do their work, as one Birmingham Cub Scout says, “crisscross applesauce.”
The Cub Scouts raised the money the old-fashioned way: with plenty of hard work. With the support of the congregation of their church, Sixth Avenue Baptist in Birmingham, the boys held monthly fundraising events, including bake sales and car washes.
Check out the video below, in which the Cub Scouts get a visit from K.I.N.D. founder Lawrence O’Donnell.
