Eagle Scout Project Honors Fallen Veteran, Olympian

Tim Klotz, from Troop 383 in Orland Park, Illinois, came up with a great idea for his Eagle project: a memorial garden named after a local resident who served in the Vietnam War and also competed in the 1960 and 1964 Olympics.

“It was amazing how people jumped up,” Tim told the Southtown Star newspaper. “All I had to say that he was a veteran, he was killed in action and that he was an Olympian.”
